Sustainability:
ÖkoBrella is and remains the original
How about a little more?
Sustainability starts with long-lasting, high-quality umbrellas. But at FARE we always wanted to go one step further – and created the ÖkoBrella umbrellas in 2011. As true “environmental pioneers”, we have repeatedly realised innovations here over the years and expanded the product family. This will also happen in the future – so you can continue to look forward!
A frame made entirely of bamboo: The ÖkoBrella success story begins with the use of components from sustainable forestry, plus a cover made of Oeko-Tex polyester. This concept was a true innovation – and limited to regular umbrellas.
From bottle to umbrella: In the new ÖkoBrella mini umbrella, for the first time both the handle and the cover are made of recycled plastics, which were PET bottles in their previous life.
An award-winning innovation: The AOC-Mini umbrella, the ÖkoBrella, largely made of recycled or renewable raw materials, wins the “Sustainable Product” PSI Sustainability Award 2017.
Awarded again: With shaft, tips and top made of bamboo, the AC midsize bamboo umbrella ÖkoBrella made it onto the winner’s podium at the PSI Sustainability Award.
Sustainability – consistently planned and done: With ÖkoBrella Shopping, FARE is launching a mini umbrella that comes with the shopping bag.
Because the future belongs to renewable raw materials, FARE provides an AC regular umbrella and a mini umbrella from the ÖkoBrella series with a real wood handle.
Only logical in fact: The ÖkoBrella Shopping “V2” now comes with a real wood handle and the waterSAVE® cover material. At the same time, the waterSAVE® cover material becomes a distinctive feature of all available ÖkoBrella umbrellas.
Customers are curiously waiting for the next ÖkoBrella innovation – and at FARE, the sustainable innovations are guaranteed not to last long!
waterSAVE®: Because every drop counts
Water-saving dyed cover material made from recycled plastics – FARE succeeds with a little revolution: Six litres of water are saved per umbrella in production, which corresponds to a 90 % reduction in water consumption.
And this is how the dyeing process of our waterSAVE® material works:
The yarn made of recycled plastic is already completely dyed in the production process for our waterSAVE® cover material – gentirely without water and largely without the use of chemicals. The energy-intensive drying time is also eliminated – as is the energy-consuming cleaning and treatment of the water.
7 x sustainable: the ÖkoBrella series
And this is how 3 x sustainability works:
1. Cover material
2. Handle
3. Packaging
Carefully selected: what’s around it
Each ÖkoBrella model is provided in a package made of compostable film, a hangtag made of recycled paper and jute cord. This makes the sustainability of these umbrellas tangible from the very first moment.
