A celebrated synthesis of the arts: Circus Roncalli has stood for a unique blend of nostalgia and modernity since 1976. All over the world, circus director Bernhard Paul and his artists and clowns succeed in enchanting and touching people. An experience that should be embodied by a unique umbrella: This idea was born for the 40th anniversary of the circus. A very special challenge for FARE!
Modelled after the Roncalli tent
Taking up the characteristic shape of the Roncalli tent in the covering – that called for a new development. To achieve the shape of the Roncalli tent in the covering, a specially developed spring was inserted between the frame and the tip. The umbrella tip itself also represents a miniature of the original. This is how the FARE team created the unique shape that immediately evokes the unmistakable Roncalli feeling.
From idea to umbrella
Creating something completely new with the Roncalli umbrella: For the FARE development department, a detailed inspection of the Roncalli tent was first essential. The individual elements of the umbrella were then designed in precise sketches and assembled into a small synthesis of the arts.
Printed all around true to original
Elaborate and detailed: Of course, the covering of the umbrella was also printed like the famous Roncalli tent and provided with the unmistakable Roncalli logo. In the end, the result was an umbrella creation that could not have been more individual and specific. Typical Roncalli, down to the last detail!
A little superstition
When assessing the FARE® umbrella models, Eliana Paul, wife of the circus director, attached particular importance to one detail: the umbrellas were to be presented outdoors. This is because, according to an old myth, putting up umbrellas indoors can bring bad luck.
