Umbrellas become a work of art
Robust utilitarian object meets delicate painterly forms
If umbrellas inspire something out of the ordinary: For the Strike a Pose festival, Oliver Husain and FARE created a group of strikingly designed umbrellas. These umbrellas are artistically decorated with surprising motifs on the outside and partly also on the inside. The works of art could be admired at the participating Cologne gallery Clages.
The festival Strike a Pose combines fashion, art and design and took place for the second time in June 2022 in Düsseldorf with renowned galleries from Düsseldorf, Cologne and Bonn.

In the beginning there is a special moment
Oliver Husain’s projects often begin with a fragment of history, a rumour, a personal encounter or a distant memory. He uses a wide range of cinematic languages and visuals – such as dance, puppetry, costumes and special effects – to animate his research and engage the audience in complex narratives.
