
Responsibility for people and the environment
We define sustainability in terms of our company's global social responsibility (corporate social responsibility). This encompasses the social, economic and ecological aspects of our actions.

FARE is a member of amfori, the world's leading business association for open and sustainable trade.

Since 2021, FARE - Guenther Fassbender GmbH has been ÖKOPROFIT-certified for sustainable, environmentally friendly work processes.


Ecological
Examples of environmentally friendly work processes at FARE: CO₂-neutral parcel shipping; bundling of general cargo shipments; reduction of paper consumption through digitalisation; switch to green gas and green electricity; modern LED lighting in the warehouse and in the building.

Social commitment
FARE is a member of amfori BSCI. Our production facilities have been successfully audited in accordance with the code of conduct. This includes principles such as: fair remuneration, occupational health and safety, no child labour, no forced labour, no discrimination and much more.

Economical
Every year, we expand our product range with new, innovative products. The proportion of sustainable umbrellas is constantly increasing. In this way, we aim to meet the requirements of our customers and ensure long-term healthy growth for our company.


Climate protection
With its climate protection projects, FARE contributes to several of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. At the same time, we promote responsible production processes that continuously reduce the ecological footprint of our products.

waterSAVE®
We use granulate obtained from recycled plastic waste as the basis for our waterSAVE® cover material. The fibre is completely dyed during the actual production process (i.e. when the yarn is spun). This enables FARE to save approx. 6 litres of water per umbrella.

The FARE environmental team is committed to continuously expanding and improving ecological responsibility within the company. We identify potential along the entire value chain and develop measures that make our processes even more resource-efficient. In this way, we promote a corporate culture in which sustainability is actively practised and continuously developed.

The Child Protection Association and FARE
Our campaign #SCHUTZschirmfürKINDER (Protective Umbrella for Children) has already raised a number of donations for the DKSB.

Lerose Foundation
The Lerose Foundation is a charitable foundation whose aim is to provide active support for children, young people and families in Remscheid. Its 60th anniversary project raised a total of 20,000 euros in donations.

Viva con Agua
With its waterSAVE® cover material, FARE reduces water consumption per umbrella by around six litres while also significantly lowering energy consumption and emissions. With the #waterSAVEchallenge, we combine these savings with social engagement: every waterSAVE® umbrella produced supports the drinking water project ‘Viva con Agua’. This is how sustainable production translates into concrete help.

Regional commitment
FARE is regularly involved in the region and supports local events such as the Remscheid company run and social initiatives such as the Lions Club. Through this commitment, we strengthen the local community and promote projects that directly benefit people in our home region.
