Guide
Which colour of parasol is best?
The short answer: there is no single best colour. It all depends on what you prioritise – shade, brightness or appearance.
What influences colour – and what doesn’t
The colour of a parasol has an impact on three levels. It alters the lighting atmosphere beneath the cover. It affects how warm it gets underneath. And it shapes the look of your balcony or terrace. UV protection, on the other hand, is primarily determined by the cover material. At FARE, all parasols have a sun protection factor (UPF) of 50+ – regardless of the colour chosen.

Light shades
White and apricot remain cooler. The shades below them are light and cheerful.

Dark shades
Midnight blue and grey soften the light. The cover feels warmer.

Natural shades
Natural and grass-green tones blend unobtrusively into gardens and balconies.
The six FARE colours
The FARE parasols are available in six colours: white, apricot, midnight blue, grass green, natural and grey. White and natural complement almost any setting. Apricot and grass green add a touch of colour. Midnight blue and grey have a subtle look and show dirt less clearly than lighter shades.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which colour offers the best protection against UV radiation?
It is the cover material of the parasol that determines the level of protection, not the colour. All FARE parasols have a UPF rating of 50+ in every colour.
Which colour stays the coolest?
Light colours such as white reflect more sunlight. As a result, the cover does not heat up as much as it does with dark colours.
Which colour shows dirt the least?
Grey and midnight blue. White covers show dust and marks more clearly and need cleaning more often.
Does the colour fade in the sun?
Every cover loses some of its colour intensity over the years. Storing it in a sleeve over the winter slows this down significantly.
