Advice
Which parasol is right for you?
Four factors are key: size, shape, colour and UV protection. This guide walks you through all four.
An overview of the four criteria
If you consider these four points, you’ll quickly find the right umbrella.

Size
The diameter determines the size of the shadow. FARE offers sizes ranging from 147 to 235 cm.

Form
Round tables go well with tables. Rectangular ones make better use of narrow balconies.

Colour
It sets the mood of the lighting and creates a cosy atmosphere beneath the cover.

UV protection
All FARE parasols have a sun protection factor (UPF) of 50+.

Der Durchmesser entscheidet, wie viele Personen im Schatten sitzen.

Rule of thumb: An umbrella with a diameter of 180 cm will provide shade for a small table and two chairs. For a seating area for four people, allow for 200 cm or more.
Round or rectangular?
Round umbrellas cast an even shade around the shaft. They go well with round tables and freestanding seating areas. Rectangular umbrellas follow the shape of a balcony: they make the most of the length without protruding over the parapet. A volant around the edge provides additional space for promotional labelling.

Stability: the overlooked factor
Even the most beautiful umbrella is of little use if it wobbles. A parasol base holds around 17 litres of water or 26 kg of sand. It only achieves full stability when completely filled. On the beach, a ground spike secures the lower pole directly into the ground. The XL parasol regulates excess pressure caused by gusts of wind via a double-layered ventilation system.
Frequently asked questions
What diameter is suitable for four people?
From around 200 cm, four people can sit comfortably in the shade. When the sun is low in the sky, a tilt mechanism comes in handy.
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. UPF 50+ means that the wearer can stay in the sun at least 50 times longer without suffering skin damage than they would without protection.
Is a parasol suitable for use in the rain?
The Travelmate Camper parasol also doubles as an umbrella. The larger models are designed for use in the sun.
Can a parasol be printed with a logo?
Yes. On models with a volant, the advertising space is at the edge. We’ll go over the details when we speak.
